The Spinney Light Railway in the Past

A magazine article written by Mr Ballantine Dykes shortly after the railway was completed.

Adrian Allum was given this article and has passed it on for inclusion in the website.

No date is supplied but I guess its mid 1970s. The text indicates that only the Spinney area is signalled. The track diagram shows no branch and a quite different layout at Dingly. The up loop at Spinney is just a siding but the other siding, which still exists, is longer, using space now occupied by the signal box.

The material is presented as photocopy images. This preserves its authenticity.
However, if folk can't read the text Adrian has volunteered to do some typing.
