The Woodland Railway visits Spinney
Ted Martin was the owner and creator of the "Woodland and Garden Railway" which ran round his house at Thame in Oxfordshire.
The railway was about the same size as the SLR.
It featured only GWR locomotives and "County of Somerset" was probably one of Ted's locos from the "Woodland and Garden Railway", brought over for the visit.
In a story much like that of Joe BD at the Spinney, enthusiast Ted built the railway
and it flourished for many years.
Eventually Ted died; his widow stayed on and allowed the railway to continue
but when she died the house was sold to developers in 2019 and the railway is no more.
Thank you Hugh BD for hanging on to the Spinney until a buyer interested in the Spinney Railway
came along and thank you Alan and June for taking us on and allowing the SLR to continue.
